Chateau de Valençay
This Renaissance castle resembles Chambord
by many aspects :it was built in 1540 . A wing was added in the 17 C.
The corner round towers already have
elements of classical style .The entrance pavilion looks like a keep
...but with many windows and fancy military decoration ...
The west wing dates from the 17C,modified in
the 18C
Charles Maurice Talleyrand-Périgord Foreign
Affairs Minister of Napoleon ,bought this castle in 1803 at the request
of the Emperor to receive important visitors.
In the interiors beautiful 18C furniture
and sumptuous 19C Empire style furniture
Many bedrooms and a typical 19C bathroom
