The Chateau de la Guillonniere is not a hotel, but a self-catering  private castle. It offers almost the same comfort as a 4 stars " traditional hotel" but  does not provide the services of a luxury hotel , professional personnel and leisure facilities but your hosts, Marie France and Georges Rebillard d‘Alba, will welcome you as friends in the peaceful and intimate atmosphere of their superb home....a unique cultural experience ,when visiting France. The owners live all year round in a wing of the chateau. The other wing and some annex buildings have been converted for holiday renting and the guest rooms are decorated with taste and knowledge of styles, antiques and decorations.

Since the park and the castle are totally private and not open to public visit, you can, in total privacy , rest , walk, dream , discover the beautiful rose garden ,the ponds , the hundreds of year old trees...

Pictured here are the Duchy's flag and the Heraldic Coat of Arms of the current owners  of  the castle. Its origin dates from the 18th century at the King of Spain's Court. The famous Duchess of Albe, loved by Goya, is Marie France's ancestor. Marie France is as rebellious and non-conformist as the Duchess was, but more smiling and pleasant than the model of the marvelous Goya painting entitled "Duchess of Albe Portrait" (New York Museum), "La Maja vestida" and "La Maja desnuda" (Prado Museum, Madrid 

Georges is an artist. He used to be a producer and film director. He likes old historical buildings. His objective is to give life to the Castle of La Guillonniere and share with people from around the world the rare pleasure of living here.

Marie France and Georges, both lovers of art, painting, photography and architecture, can advise you on how best to discover the impressive cultural heritage of this beautiful region of France.

The Chateau de la Guillonniere and its outbuildings are a private village in the middle of 35 acres of a romantic park with a large forest nearby. There is no traffic, no pollution, just peace and quiet .The Castle area is pedestrian  and the guests' parking 100 meters away so no noise , no disturbance at all.
