Map and Directions to the Castle

Le Château de la Guillonniere is situated Southeast of the city of Poitiers.

Poitiers is at about 300 Km south west of Paris.

The castle is indicated on Michelin Map number 68, fold number 14. There is a detailed map here-after.

By Car

From Paris: Take the A10 freeway in the direction of Bordeaux. Leave the A10 at the Poitiers Nord (north) exit N° 29. It is approximately a 3-hour drive from Paris. The castle is 15 kilometers  from the city of Poitiers.

From the South and Southwest of France: Take the A10 freeway in the direction of Paris. Leave the A10 at the Poitiers Sud (south)  exit N° 30  or Poitiers Nord (north) exit N° 29 .

From Poitiers Sud (south) or Poitiers Nord (north) Exits

In both cases, follow the signs in the direction Poitiers Centre first then immediately of Limoges. When you are in the village of Fleure on the National Road 147 (N147) going towards Limoges, turn right towards Gencay on the D2 road. The castle is 2  kilometers  from Fleure before you reach Vernon, on the left hand side on D2. On the N147 and the D2 you will see signs for the Château de la Guillonniere. There is a nice private road leading to the castle , please drive very slowly and enjoy the views of the pack. Stop at the parking and ring  the bell  on a post a few meters away to be welcomed.

Guests are requested to use the parking at about hundred meters from the castle. The access of the parking is limited to private or family cars and strictly forbidden for Busses, coaches, heavy vehicles, camping cars, big trailers. Camping in forbidden on the grounds.

By Train

The TGV stops in Poitiers. The train trip is just one and a half hours from Paris. There is also a TGV station at the Charles de Gaulle airport and direct connection to Poitiers . See    S N C F     or  TGV-Web

 Taxis and car rentals are available at the Poitiers train station. Leaving the station, turn left, then follow the signs in the direction of Limoges. It is a 15-minute drive to the Château de la Guillonniere from the station .

We recommend renting a car when arriving by train : major rent a car companies are in Poitiers station and offer attractive rates . The castle is deep in the countryside and a car is really required.

By Plane

Taxis and car rentals are in the arrival hall .We recommend reserving  a car at airport when arriving by  plane. It is a 20-minute drive to the Chateau de la Guillonniere. Leaving the airport, turn right on to the National Road (N10), then follow the signs in the direction of Limoges.
